Benefits of LED Lighting

1. Longer Life Span

- Operational life of current LED light bulbs is around 50,000 to 100,000 hours and this is equivalent of at least 6 years of continuos operation. This is a much longer life span in comparison to the average life span of an incandescent bulb, which is approximately 5000 hours. Using LEDs would virtually eliminate the needs for routine replacements.

2. Energy Consumption

- LEDs does not consume much power. A well designed LED circuit can be very energy efficient as compared to traditional incandescent bulbs.

3. Costs

- Prices of LEDs are getting more and more competitive and it has reached a level where the costs of using LEDs versus traditional incandescent lights are more cost efficient. The longer life span of LEDs makes routine replacements less likely. Reduced power consumption will also translate to lowering of energy costs.

Companies are currently investing heavily in researching LED lighting technology and implementations of LEDs in practical applications are becoming more and more common. It's is widely believed that LEDs will one day replace virtually every type of light, bulb, and lamp that is currently in use.
